課程概述

This course will bring students into touch with international as well as Japanese business
norms and expectations. The course considers these issues through the practical business
lenses of negotiation, Digital Transformation, leadership, and management in the context of
Japanese business culture.

Two sessions will be held on line for introducing key concepts and terminology. The main
sessions of the course will take place in Kyoto, Japan, making use of classrooms, workplaces,
and cultural sites. The ancient city forms a backdrop for the course.

A highlight of the course will be the interaction with MBA students enrolled at Kyoto University.
This group is highly diverse with participants from around the world including exchange
students from partner institutions. The primary instructor for the course is Dr. W. Baber who
has published in the topics central to this course in recent years. Additionally, students will
interact with some Japanese and foreign business people working the Kyoto area.
